Nathan H. Azrin is a professor at the Nova Southeastern University Center for Psychological Studies in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida since August 1980. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1956, after which he was a professor at Southern Illinois University and Research Director in the Illinois Department of Mental Health. His primary research and clinic interest is in behavior therapy and behavior analysis, in which field his research topics have centered on the development of new treatment procedures in a wide variety of problem areas including mental hospital patients, mentally retarded, autism, marital disorder, Tourett Disorder, unemployment, depression, conduct disorder, enuresis, medication adherence, alcoholism, drug addiction, and conduct disorder.
