Shannon Ray, Ph.D., LMHC, NCC, CCMHC is currently an Assistant Professor with the Center for Psychological Studies at Nova Southeastern University. She received her doctorate from the University of Central Florida in 2004. She has extensive clinical mental health experience and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida as well as a National Certified Counselor and a Clinically Certified Mental Health Counselor.

Dr. Ray has published in the areas of eating disorders, domestic violence, counseling student
performance, and chronic pain. She is the past coordinator of a million dollar research grant addressing moral development of children in public schools throughout the state and has conducted workshops in this area since 2002. Her current research interests include: student selection into counseling programs, student practicum performance, eating disorders, domestic violence, and chronic pain. Dr. Ray has presented regionally, nationally, and internationally on each of these topics.
