Curriculum vitae



Barry A. Schneider, Ph.D. is a Professor of Psychology in Nova Southeastern University's Center for Psychological Studies. He received his B.A. degree from UCLA, and completed his graduate education at Columbia University where he earned two Master's degrees and the Doctor of Philosophy. Post-graduate clinical training was obtained at New York University School of Medicine-Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital. Dr. Schneider became a member of the New York University Medical School faculty and served as staff psychologist at the hospital. When he first came to Florida, he was the Director of the Coconut Grove Mental Health Clinic. He then served as a forensic psychologist working with seriously ill criminals at Florida State Hospital. For the past 22, years he has been a faculty member of Nova Southeastern University. For the first nine years, he was also the Director of the Master's Programs in Psychology. In addition to his teaching, supervision, and research obligations, Dr. Schneider is a licensed psychologist in Florida and New York, and maintains a private practice in Hollywood, Florida.
