Shannon Ray, Ph.D., LMHC, NCC, CCMHC is currently an Associate Professor with the Center for Psychological Studies at Nova Southeastern University. She received her doctorate from the University of Central Florida in 2004. She has extensive clinical mental health experience and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida, a National Certified Counselor, and a Clinically Certified Mental Health Counselor.

Dr. Ray has published in the areas of counseling student clinical performance, spirituality in counseling, grandchildren raised by grandparents, eating disorders, intimate partner violence, and chronic pain. She is the President-Elect of the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC) and has served two terms as a member of ASERVIC’s Board of Directors. Dr. Ray is also the Secretary-Elect of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). Her current research interests include: student selection into counseling programs, counseling student clinical performance, and spirituality in counseling. Dr. Ray has presented regionally, nationally, and internationally on each of these topics.
