Mental Health Counseling
The masters program is offered at Nova Southeastern
University (NSU)'s main campus, and at NSU's Student Education Centers
in Florida. The program is also offered online.
NSU's Main Campus
Nova Southeastern's main campus is located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
The program on the main campus is designed to accommodate both the full-time
and part-time student.
Classes are typically offered during three sixteen week semesters. Most
courses are scheduled from 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m. or 7:00p.m.-10:00p.m., Monday
through Thursday.
Some weekend courses may be available.
Student Education Centers/Field-Based Format
The masters program is also offered at Nova Southeastern's Education
Service Centers in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and West
Palm Beach.
Classes are offered in a weekend format, with the exception of practicum.
Classes typically meet one weekend each month, except for practicum,
and are scheduled on Fridays (6:00p.m.-10:00p.m.), Saturdays (8:30a.m.-5:30p.m.)
and Sundays (8:30a.m.-5:30 p.m.). One month of study is required prior
to each class start-up. Practicum is scheduled over sixteen week semesters.

Licensure and Certification
State of Florida Licensure for Mental Health Counselors
On January 1, 2001, the state of Florida new legislation
(Chapter 491, Florida Statutes) governing licensure requirements
for mental health counselors will take effect. Students interested in licensure
should request in writing a copy of licensure requirements from the:
